BLM GRASS Wells

Well data was provided by the Bureau of Land Management and includes no proprietary data submitted to BLM for approval. The data was extracted from BLM’s Geothermal Resources Automated Support System (GRASS). GRASS System Access is provided through the BLM Corp Domain using a published Citrix application. Authentication is provided in 3 steps. First the user must be authenticated by the Corp Domain then the BASS system must authenticate them as an AFMSS user. Finally the user must have a valid entry in the AFMSS database corresponding to their Corp login name in order to access the database for a specific field office.

The well data base contains well type (temperature gradient injection production observation and disposal) and status (plugged and abandoned producing injection etc) operator API number BLM lease number well name and number well location (TRS 1/41/4 and footage calls) spud date and completion date.

The latitude and longitudes were batch processed calculated by BLM from each well’s location and provided to NREL.
