FORGE

The Energy Department envisions Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy (FORGE) as a dedicated site where scientists and engineers will be able to develop, test, and accelerate breakthroughs in enhanced geothermal system (EGS) technologies and techniques. DOE has awarded funding for the evaluation of five potential sites for the subsurface geothermal laboratory, with the intention to downselect to a final site in the future.
