Utility-Scale PV Plant Locations

This layer represents the location of operational, utility-scale Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Power projects greater than 1 MW in the United States. This information was compiled primarily from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) Major Solar Projects database, with some additions from independent NREL research. The information in this layer was gathered from public announcements of solar projects in the form of company press releases, news releases, and, in some cases, conversations with individual developers. It is not a comprehensive list of all utility-scale solar projects and may be missing smaller projects that are not publicly announced. The facilities are displayed as near to the location as possible and this is represented by a location-accuracy code: 1 = displayed on site, 2 = displayed to nearest city, 3 = displayed to nearest county, 4 = not displayed, 5 = displayed to nearest zipcode. The locations were derived collaboratively by staff from SEIA, NREL, and Argonne National Laboratory (ANL).
